Winter Feasts

When the snow is deep and air takes your breath away, nothing is more comforting than food.
Come on admit it, we all have our winter favorites when it comes to food
Homemade soups, roast and potatoes, fresh baked bread and carrots.
With that in mind ...
I'm ready for when my carrot craving arrives,
 as I know it will.
I can hardly wait to crack open a jar of
 home canned carrots
It soothes the soul when you recall the seeding
 and weeding and
with that first bite you realize it was all worth it.
This pic was taken just as they came out of
the canner so you can still
see the water spots on top of the jars.
There are still some more waiting in the
garden to be dug up and processed.

Did I mention how much I love carrots?

I say BREAD ~ make me some carrot bread!! YUM... we are food junkies ~ aren't we. I noticed a few post back that Jack was wondering if we were obsessed with food. Well... I don't know about you; but I sure am. Especially GOOD food ~ like fresh from the garden carrots and just picked from the tree apples. Your canned carrots look delish!

Sheer poetry, and truth.
Okay, I'm ready. I looked up chard and know what it is. Looked back at your photos and know I have not eaten it, and I love greens.

One other admission, I have NEVER eaten a canned carrot. I love carrots, love them raw, love to put them in soup, but have never seen them canned. Not a staple in my southern up bringing, Mom never put those up.

Good entry and pretty too!

Love from Two, heading South to Vegas!
