We're home from spending Christmas with all the kids and Grand-loves!  I feel miserable ... freezing, sneezing and I haven't mouth breathed this much since the last time I gave birth! That was over 30 years ago!!!

Stay healthy and have a wonderful New Year!  In the mean time, enjoy our wonderful little goofs!

Cherries, blueberries and blackberries - oh my!

It's that time of year when all the berry picking pays off!

'Tis the Season

Although the true meaning of Christmas
 is carried in my heart every day of the year;
decorating for the holidays does add
a little glitz and glimmer to the house.

Deer Friends

We had a great visit with some
'deer friends'
on Thanksgiving.

this is little Buckarooskin

I stood on the deck and we talked

they gave me their full attention

Thanksgiving Humor

My Thanksgiving prayer is that in whatever,
wherever, whenever, whoever or why

One of my funniest Thanksgiving memories is the year when all three of our young adult children made the trip from Wisconsin to Missouri to spend Thanksgiving with their Dad and I.  After a day long marathon of "Christmas Story" and the thought of Ralphie shooting his eye out with that B.B. gun, we sat down to a full fledged Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings.  We praised our Lord, gave our thanks and began filling our stomachs; after which I suggested a break before dessert.  I told the kids that I was going to enjoy the evening and sit on the dock for a bit.  When they asked if they could help buy putting the food away, I directed them to where they could find containers and the plastic wrap if needed.  Jeff and I headed out to sit on the dock to watch the ducks and geese float by as I was ever so thankful for the family gathering and the laughter coming from the house.  Shortly after they all emerged from the house to enjoy the beautiful fall evening with us.  So much to be thankful for. As I reentered the dining room, I burst into a full belly rolling laughter until tears were streaking down my face.  Those goof balls had taken a couple of boxes of plastic wrap and wrapped the entire table, with plates and food still in place.  Under the table and back up and over, again and again and again. In every direction you can think of until it looked like a giant Thanksgiving Chrysalis.  I was sure a huge turkey was about to burst through it at any second. I still laugh at the memory of that sight - that very special holiday comes back to mind year after year, just like the layers upon layers of plastic wrap on that Thanksgiving table.

Happy Thanksgiving to All!

YIKES! I'm so far behind ...

Okay, so I'm out there surfing the waves of the net and I come across this … BLOG PLANNERS!  (Click on the previous words BLOG PLANNERS for link)
Free Weekly Blog Planner Printable
Could this really be the answer to my blogging problems? Do people actually use these to arrange their week?

Heck I don't even know what I'm doing at the moment; let alone plan an entire week!   Heaven help me ~ have I been out of the loop to the point of not even knowing I was out of the loop?!

NO!!!  Some are supposedly planning it by the MONTH ...  wait a second, I have to catch my breath ...

Family Tree

My Mom had a visit recently from her Great Niece
and her Great Great Niece.
Okay Sisters, correct me if I'm wrong here
(and I'm sure you will)
but after having us 10 kids;
I believe Mom has 21 Grandchildren
 and 38 Great Grand-loves
with oodles upon oodles of extended relatives
like nieces, nephews and all of their off spring.
In-laws, out-laws, good apples and maybe a few bad.
But it's our family and we roll with the punches
along with the bunches.  Our tree just keeps on
growing and growing and amazingly
there is always enough love for every
single branch, twig and bud.

It's Been a While

They say time flies when you're having fun.  Well I can't really say that what I've been up to has been all that fun but I have been keeping busy.  Busy enough that I haven't posted a blog update for some time.  I actually love the fall pics from my last entry, because now we in the dull, drab, leaf-less time of the year.  Foggy mornings and dreary days.  The sun peeked out for a while today which was a treat.
Even my sisters are wondering what I've been up to so I thought I should update.  The yard work and canning season is finally complete.  I discovered as I put things out in the gardens, I must do it a little at a time.  But when I began playing like a squirrel and started storing my nuts or in this case, yard ornaments ... I had a lot of "stuff" out there. Stuff that I call eye candy for the flower beds.  But I did get a few of my pastime shopping trips in at the Good Will and St. Vinies too.  So here you go Sister, Sisters ...

This is just a sampling of some of my finds on my last couple of adventures.  As you can see I found some more crafting "stuff" which should keep me busy this fall and winter.
