The Old Barn

I was just reading a great blog I follow called Ships Log where Jack took a picture that inspired me to share a couple of scrapbook pages I did last year. Thanks Jack.
The house just had a facelift however; I haven't been 'home' yet to see the new siding and windows. I can hardly wait to see the changes.

I loved growing up here.

Wow, Cher, we were there this summer and did not see the snow. But yeah, I have a love for old barns, and the poem is so fitting.

We love Mel & Dar's stories of playing in that barn, we are so privileged to have met your mom. I know whe will be happy with the added insulation and the windows this winter when that snow returns. That life sure agreed with you sisters, that is for sure. But mama? She is something else!

Love all the images today! The poem really hit a nerve with me as I think of my mother who was in a nursing home suffering from Dimetia before passing on...she could have written those words.
Amazing how we touch visitors with our postings..you have done that to me today! hugs

Wonderful pictures - they brought back a lot of memories of your Dad & Mom. They were so much fun when they came to Missouri - and so gracious about my ranchette' Give your Mom a hug for me when you see her next.

You know I'm loving this post! Wow... if the walls could talk ~ the things that old barn has seen! Lambs, cows, horses, pigs, pigeons, chickens, turkeys, guinea hens, children crawling through the hay and trying to keep their balance on the rafter poles in the hay mow, even a naughty girl snarfing her first smoke behind it. Thanks for the memories!!
