How Time Flies

We were hoping to get back up to Lake Superior this summer, but it didn't happen. We live an hour away and it didn't happen.  Instead we allowed ourselves to get super busy. Between our own yard work, gardening, weddings etc. we neglected our own play time.  There's no one to blame but ourselves but when I got looking through some pictures I was amazed how long it had actually been since I snapped some photos up there.  These pics are from 2006 - seems impossible that much time has passed by so quickly. I think we had only been up there once since but I didn't take pictures.  You'll see why I want to go back.

WEll the photos are beautiful, much like paintings by a master, well I guesss they are. ha!
We enjoyed the littel we got to see of the coast of Superior. It was our first time, but hope it is not our last. It was a special treat!
Thanks for a new glimpse.

Love from (rural)Alabama without the proverbial banjo on our knee!

I want to go too!! It's been awhile since I've walked the shores of Big Lake Gitcheegoomie. It was on my 'do list' this summer and we never made it up there either. It certainly is beautiful. I'm thinking a weekend at your place and a drive north should be in the plans yet before the big snows hit our neck of the woods???

And why, if you only live an hour away? I know. I've done the same thing too. The pictures are beautiful. - Kathy

I know Presque Isle when I see it!! How ironic, I just posted a blogpost for pre-publishing today of Presque Isle...it will go up on 11/11/10, so watch for it! I love it there...we live in Michigamme so I try to go out to the island about once a month before winter comes!!

How I miss it too...I can feel the breeze off the lake while making camp soup over the fire and trying to keep the sparks from melting the screens of the motorhome. It's been forever...I see little Andy sliding down the steep slopes to be the first to search for agates and get his feet wet. I feel the theraputic ice waters soothing our aching bodies as Mel and I search the lake bottom for the perfect wave-smoothed rocks to bring home for a fireplace-someday. I see Mel whipping up something great for dessert while Bill and Slim peel shrimp for the boil as the kids sneak breadcrumbs to put in Bill's cap for the seagulls. He is so afraid of birds in flight. Oh, the sweet memories you have conjured. Let's all go.
