Morning Glories

Last year was my first attempt at planting Morning Glories. I was hoping for better production but I plan to try them again this year. I also picked up some 4'oclocks to plant alongside them so when the "glories" get tired and close for the day the 4'oclocks should take over and show their pretty little blossoms.

Good idea on the timing. You should get some night blooming Moon Flower Vine to really cover it. My Morning Glories really struggled last year. So much so that I don't think I will plant them this year.

I think the four o'clocks and morning glories would be a fantastic combo! You know me... ANYTHING that blooms is a keeper!! I even love squash blossoms. lol

I've done that very thing with the morning glories and 4 o'clocks! I love them both. Once your "glories" get established they should reseed themselves. It's too early for them to bloom here in Illinoise. So, so nice to see them there!! - Kathy

I love morning glories. I always thought their name was perfect for their beautiful celebration of each new day.

I like 4 o' clocks too, but I don't grow them because I'm afraid of them. They have a high toxicity level for humans & animals.
On a positive note, I also read a pests control idea once, that 4 o' clocks would draw Japanese beetles and they would die from eating the blooms.

4 o'clocks are a beautiful addition to a flowerbed. I can hardly wait to see photos of yours blooming amongst the Morning Glories.

Wishing you a week of happy planting and spring growth!
:)

Hi, I just read your comment on my post and it made me giggle. Yes, that is me in my profile picture and not Jamie Lee curtis. I will take that as compliment. :) Did I mention how much I like your blog background? Dee

Your Morning Glories are so pretty! I have Heavenly Blue Morning Glories that reseed every year. I love how the ramble over my arch.
I had 4 o'clocks once too. Be careful, depending on your zone they can take over your garden. Mine too 2 years and lots of Roundup to get rid of. They are so pretty but they reseed heavily.

OOOH thanks for the heads up about the horseradish! I'll tell my oldet. I bought it for him. He is planting his first veggie garden this year ☺
Thanks again!
