Our Special Guest

We have an overnight guest with us.  His name is Dave Wickerham, world renown organist.  We had the honor of meeting Dave about 5 years ago when he performed on the pipe organ in our small town in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  He is a good friend of our former neighbor and when we heard he would be stopping on his way through town we offered our guest room for the night.  Much to our surprise and great pleasure, he accepted.  We've had a wonderful time visiting with Dave.  He had just done a couple of performances in the Chicago area and he said it was nice to just relax.  I wish he were staying longer as the time flew by too fast.  It was our pleasure welcoming him into our home.

Yup, that's Dave beside me in our dining room!

If you ever have the opportunity to hear this man play, do it!  You will not believe your ears!

Well that was a nice surprise! I know how much you and Thom enjoyed seeing him perform ~ now getting to know him on a more personal level - all the better:) BUT a little advice dear sister ~ try to refrain from playing cards with the man ... like Slap Jack ... his hands are his instrument and I know how intense you get playing games!

What a great thing. Amazing that these wonderfully talented folks are really human, and will accept an offered room. It must have been a thrill to have him in your home.

Of course he was lucky also, You seem to be like all your family, REAL. I know he enjoyed the privilege of being with you guys.
Special times are always remembered.

From way down here where it is 67 outside and climbing.
Sending warm thoughts and Love.

How wonderful of you to share your home. I would love to hear Dave play some time. I wonder if he ever comes through northern Virginia?

What a pleasure and honor. I'm sure he did relax in your warm home. Did you make him muffins with that fantastic starter from Alaska?
Sweet for you all.

Hi Cher, thank you for visiting and Following at ShabbyTeaParty. I visited the link that DD put up, then clicked on a few more.....WOW! I fully enjoyed....Mr. Wickerham is a very talented musician. I'd love to go to a concert next time he is in the Chicago area. You must have been so thrilled to have a celebrity visit your home... he appears to be genuinely nice person. Warm Hugs,
