Awesomeness!

I had to borrow this pic from the internet.  It really got me to thinking – what is it that other people see in me that I don’t?

Ever since I was young it seemed that people believe there is more to me than what I see.  Through the years I’ve heard that I’m so talented and still I don’t see it.  I’ve been told I should be writing children’s books, cook books, creating artistically and still I can’t seem to find the motivation.

Today I pulled out some art supplies and shortly after I tucked them away in frustration.  What happened to my so called talent?

Please don’t misunderstand this as a pity party because I appreciate that I’m blessed beyond belief. I honestly just wish I could see what others see in me - yet it eludes me.

It is just that we of the genius category are too smart to see it. HAHAHAHAHA.

I carry my my paints in the basement of the motor home, always saying, I will take them out and paint, I haven't for a couple years now.

But we see the talent you display in such a common thing as a picture on the blog. In the display of something you did and thought nothing of it, because the act came so naturally.
Oh baby, and your attitude is so much better than mine and many more that say, HEY LOOK AT ME, I AM SO DANGED GOOD!
I suggest you ax' Thom, why you were so awesome that he connived to snag you!

Love from Maine....

I hear a lot of the same thing from my friends ...and like you I can not see it in myself. But ...hey...if the shoe fits wear it. I am having a motivation problem also.

I know one thing for sure ~ you are my sister and that gene of frustration of not seeing in yourself what others claim to see in you is also in me! Sometimes it's just not easy being so AWESOME!!!! Like your coffee mug picture ~ it's exhausting! Love ya :)

I believe you're talented. I also believe you lack confidence. Get the art supplies out again and live with them sitting around awhile. Take a few moments every day or so to play around with them. No pressure, no patterns, just enjoy it. Maybe it'll help you to get back in the swing of crafting again.
