Today was for the Birds

As we were finishing up the chore of planting garden we spotted a Cedar Waxwing. What a nice surprise! She was carrying some "stuff" so we watched to see where she was headed and sure enough she has a nest in one of the trees in our yard. As she went to her new abode, we also spotted her hubby keeping close gaurd.

Our Bluebirds have a nest full of fletchlings. Pics of the babies to follow as soon as they leave the nest. But in the meantime, here's Daddy ~ just in time for Father's Day!

BEAUTIFUL HOBBY, WATCHING BIRDS. sam -

Love the birdies! Also, I love the fact that you take such good care of them... the way you buy the dehydrated meal worms and rehydrate them with the olive oil for the bluebirds. Those are some smart birds making their homes in your yard. I love the look of the cedar waxwing ~ they just have that "don't ruffle my feathers!" attitude.

Pretty little birds. I never pay that much attention to the birds. I love seeing the morning doves and hearing their coos. We also get some great big honking sand cranes too. Those are so cool to watch. One time I was at the stove and looked up. There was one right outside the window looking in at me. Funny birds.

So lucky you are to have both of these fine feathered friends nesting in your yard. Enjoy them. They sure are beautiful. Two of our bluebird boxes have babies in them and very busy parents filling their tummys.
Have a great Sunday You Two

As you know (from reading my blog) I love birds and photographing them...the Cedar Waxwings are amazing..when they come here, they arrive in hoardes and eat all the blossoms or fruit from a tree...I have to go out and photo them in a hurry because they don't stay long..but they are gorgeous birds.
