SOUP's on!

I know that in the winter months I do more baking than in the summer months, and in the summmer months we eat a lot more fresh vegetables etc. etc. But I just came to the realization that when it rains I have a strong tendency to make  SOUP.  We've been eating a LOT of SOUP lately. This past month I've made homemade soups over and over again. Don't get me wrong - we love soup. And good thing because it's been raining and raining and then raining some more for the past several weeks. So without even realizing it I start another kettle of SOUP. Recently I made Cream of Asparagus Soup, Beef Vegetable Soup, Chicken Noodle Soup, and Chili.  SOUP's on!!
I sure do wish the sun would come out and help the vegetables along in my garden, I feel like having salad... that's it - SALAD!!!

No recipes??! Those all sound so yummy! I could eat soup anytime. We have been having the same weather here and I am so in the mood for a big huge pot of chili! The Cream of Asparagus sounds super delicious!

SAM AGREES.
SOUP IS FINE. CABBAGE SOUP TOO. JUST PUT A SMALL HEAD OF GREEN CABBAGE IN A LARGE KETTLE AND TWO OR THREE QUARTS OF HOT WATER AND TURN ON BOILING HEAT.

ADD THREE CRUSHED BEEF BOUILLON CUBES, A POD OF GARLIC SECTIONS, A COUPLE DASHES OF RED PEPPER, A CUP OF CHOPPED ONIONS, NO SALT NEEDED WITH THIS MUCH BOUILLON AND ADD YOUR CHOICE HERBS AS DESIRED.

THIS WILL NOT HAVE THE REGULAR CABBAGE SMELL AND DONT BE SURPRISED IF A HUNGRY VISITOR HAPPENS BY INQUIRING OF THE WAFTY ODOR.

I USE LARGE 'KITCHEN SHEARS' TO CUT THAT DELICIOUS HEAD OF GREEN CABBAGE INTO BITE SIZES. sam

THANKS FOR THE COMMENT ON MY BLOG CONCERNING MORSE CODE BLOCK LETTERS BEING PRINTED BY HAND 23 WORDS A MINUTE.
SOME EYEBROWS WERE RAISED BY NON COMS IN OUR SECTION.
SGT.LINEHOP SET THEM STRAIGHT TO BELIEVE IT BECAUSE HE HAD GIVEN ME THE TEST.
THEN THE SECTION CHIEF LIENHOP ASKED ME WHY IS IT YOU HAVE ONLY ONE STRIPE ?(THIS WAS IN COMBAT ZONE IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC).

I ANSWERED, BECAUSE OF MISSING TECH' SCHOOL DURING TIME OF BEING IN HOSPITAL HAVING THE MUMPS AND WAS NEVER SENT TO TECH SCHOOL.
SO THE GOOD SERGEANT SAW FIT TO SEE THAT I WAS PROMOTED IN RANK .
HE CHIDED SOME DOUBTING CRITICS BY SAYING, YOU NUMSKULLS CAN ONLY TYPE FIFTEEN WORDS A MINUTE.
AS I HAD STATED BEFORE, THERE IN THE COMBAT OPERATIONS VOICE RADIO WAS USED BECAUSE OUR PILOTS WERE ONLY FLYING A FEW MILES TO ATTACK THE JAP TARGETS. sam

Soup is good anytime...we just had chicken noodle, more cause Andy is sick as a dog with a terrible cold/flu thing again. Actually, I think he has another flair-up of the lymes cause he can hardly get moving., his joints hurt so bad.
So, soup is the cure-all once again.
All of yours sound lip-smacking good. BlessYourHearts

I was considering a pot of chicken chili for this week's menu ... isn't it funny how we are 'hard wired' to crave food depending on what the weather is?

So ... chocolate??
