Distractions!
I find that since I recieved my new camera, I can easily become distracted from whatever I am doing. There is a connection you know - like when I'm weeding the flowerbed and I see insects mating. I have no idea what kind of insects these are but they decided to the the nasty on the side of our tarp so of course this is the perfect opportunity for a camera shot! I'm becoming obsessed. Stop me!! I dare ya - I double dare ya!

Apologies In Order
If I haven't been by to visit your blog or to leave comments please accept my apologies. I had a major computer crash on my desktop computer and some kind of glitch is going on with my laptop. The old computer is completely shot ~ my computer guru said it's just too old to bother with anymore and I concur. As for the laptop, we're still trying to figure out why it won't let me connect to all links. I'm frustrated but I'm doing my best to get back on track. In the mean time please keep visiting and I will keep on trying to get to your sites. Believe me, this is driving me nuts! I hate hackers and it seems like they are lying in the weeds with new viruses and trojans everywhere. My guru said he's had several complaints the past few weeks regardless of how good your anti virus program is. So beware!

Flying Squirrel
Oh my, what big eyes you have!
all the better for my night vision
as I glide from tree to tree
Okay, Okay
so you caught me in the
bird house!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Sorry little guy or girl
but we will release you into the wild
as we know you live on mostly
bark and insects
but
you also love small birds
(and not in a good way)
they are NOT for
lunch!

Springing Forward
In the early 1900'
Lady Mary Wortley Montague
developed a language of flowers
in which significant sentimental
meanings and thoughts
were assigned to many flowers.
May's traditional flower is the
lily of the valley
and its sentimental meaning is:
return of happiness.

Hummingbirds Return
The hummingbirds are returning right on schedule. Here in the U.P. they usually show up around Mother's Day and that's just what they are doing. We saw our first one yesterday! My dear hubby had just hung the feeders out on Saturday. I'm sure with the lack of plants and trees blossoming, due to our late spring, the birds will be hitting the feeders heavy this year upon their return.

And lucky for me I found
a great deal on a feeder

New Finds
I love to snoop around
at my favorite little store,
in hopes of finding
treasures!
Something to work with
~ to transform.
I found some treasures
for pennies on the dollar!
and I mean 'pennies'
Two 16" coco fiber lined baskets
Two bags of fabric samples
Oh yeah
I have some crafting ideas in mind!
A set of stamping alphabets
and two rolls of clear contact paper
seen on the left side of
my wallpaper basket
and every single find
was under a dollar!

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.
One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.
But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.
After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.
'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'
The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?'
'That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.'
'For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.
Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.'
Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.
You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.
I recieved this little story in an email from a friend and I wanted to share it. If only we could all find some beauty in the everyday ups and downs we experience in our lives.
SO, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!
