I started the day off by baking a rhubarb custard pie with steusel topping. I was pulling it out of the oven just before 8:00 a.m. Now mind you, that is quite ambitious for the likes of me.
I spotted a deer right out the kitchen window.
And as you know from prior postings, we like wine. So I displayed a wine bottle surrounded by an ivy draping from a birchbark basket, setting alongside a grape motif plate box.
I recognize my blessings, large and small and will never take them for granted.

Cher Girl, that pie looks so tempting. I'll bet it was a great smell throughout the house for Thom to wake up to.
You do have a lot of nice collections and displayed so nice. I want to see more. I love that corked cookie jar. Where did you have that hiding when I was there? Cool. Wishing you a great relaxing weekend. Mom asked if you were over your cold...I think she misses you. Better plan a road trip cause your sisters and brothers miss your smilin' face too.
Loveya and God bless you both
Perfect! There is nothing like walking through your home with a true sense of contentment...that it defines and reflects your families lives and loves! Great weekend to you!
Yum... that pie looks de-LISH!!! I too like looking around my home and seeing the little things that mean so much. That's what makes us all so unique.
